I Pity the Fool
I like to talk a lot about how most people are full of shit. its the first thing that comes to mind when I ask myself what to type here about. but I don't want to express so much hatred at the world. at least not all the time.
what lead me to this entry all started when I had this chat with one of my customers about what the holy spirit was (of the christian trinity). I wanted to hear her interpretation of it to see if it sort of ran parallel to mine in that you have jesus (point A) and god/heaven (point B) and that the holy spirit was the way/condiuit/path to take to reach that destination.
cool. after we spoke, I found myself asking that question I've asked a number of times: how do people (not particularly the lady I spoke to) get off saying if you don't believe in christ as your savior that you go straight to hell?
it came down to one example in the form of another question that really tore down that whole idea:
GHANDI WENT TO HELL?
see what I mean? people are full of themselves. how do you believe in something like that, then apply it to a man who taught the world more about compassion and freedom than these evangelist fools? if it wasn't for ghandi we wouldn't have had MLK jr as we knew him. we would've been stuck with segregation here in the states and apartied in south africa for a lot longer than we did. indeed, ghandi partook his first struggles for his people in south africa. he perfectly examplifies what debunks the idea that nonchristians go to hell. he's the only example truly needed for a discussion like this.
I couldve finished this entry a week ago but I had a lingering question compelling me to dig for something in the good book. you've heard of hades. in the new testament, it's the place where the faithful went before the time of jesus. before jesus, you couldn't go to heaven and reside in God's presence.
so you ended up in hades that God split into two districts - purgatory for the bad and paradise for the good. the hebrews called this place, in its entirety, sheol (they didn't have an invested concept of the afterlife but I digress.).
Jesus (or God as we can really call him) comes to this place, empties it and gets rid of it. everyone there gets judged and those whose names are found in the book of life get taken to heaven and to God. the thing is, all this hasn't happend yet because, as found in Revelations, right after Jesus does the deed, he/God reveals the new heaven and earth and everyone left lives happily ever after. the end.
in light of that, those of the christian faith need to let go of this believe-in-jesus-or-burn-in-hell nonsense because according to the WORD sheol/hades still takes patrons.
these zealots, these so-called christians, need to stop patronizing the "nonbelievers." preach the word with HUMILITY like you're supposed to... and MOVE ON!
low sweaters and better. phat leather, so whatever. bring it on.
